The Emir’s Walnut Trees

In the 18th century, Prince Bashir II Shihabi visited the Monastery of Saint Anthony the Great, which is located in the upper part of the village of Rechmaya, in an area known as “Seer.” On that occasion, the Prince planted walnut trees that later became known by his name.

These trees are located above the road near Ain al-Deir. They form a living link between the past and the present, serving as a reminder of Lebanon’s glorious history.
